Threads of Magic, Threads of Life

My second contribution to the 2018 Malazan fan art calendar! This is my interpretation of the book characters Quick Ben and Kalam Mekhar. Quick is the bald man, and Kalam the one with cool dreadlocks and a knife :)

I wanted to paint a piece with an orange/brown background for a while now, so this was an opportunity to finally do it... also, painting highlights on black skin is always very interesting!
