Lava River

I've worked on this piece during a mentorship with Donato Giancola.
The goal was to create a painting following a MtG brief he gave us, a landscape depiction of an underground lava river. Playing with brushstrokes and colours to hint at the various textures and temperatures of the lava (solid corded lava and porous lava, fluid and fast-flowing lava) was great!
